The Bible says: "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." - 2 Thessalonians 2:11 & 12
All of Grace, by Pastor Charles Spurgeon (1834-1892) [Text: Romans 4:5: "And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us."]
My Responsibility to Our Government, by Dennis Keating [Text: Romans 13:1-7: "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying."]
Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus, by E. A. Johnston [Text: Isaiah 1:18: "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."]
Seeing Christ By Faith and By Sight, by John Owen (1616-1683) [Text: 1 Corinthian 13:12: "For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ."]
The Message of the Bible (Remastered), by Martyn Lloyd-Jones (1899-1981) [Text: Genesis 3:1: "Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?"]
False Prophets Among The Orthodox, by A. W. Pink (1886-1952) [Text: Matthew 7:13 & 14: "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."]
Jim Schneider begins this weeks News Roundup and Comment by quoting a poem by Charles M. Province titled: It is the Soldier:
“It is the Soldier, not the minister Who has given us freedom of religion. It is the Soldier, not the reporter Who has given us freedom of the press. It is the Soldier, not the poet Who has given us freedom of speech. It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer Who has given us freedom to protest. It is the Soldier, not the lawyer Who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the Soldier, not the politician Who has given us the right to vote. It is the Soldier who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag, And whose coffin is draped by the flag, Who allows the protester to burn the flag.”
I'm sure the government did lie about the COVID vaccines. But don't throw the baby out with the bath water. For a good lecture by a qualified medical professional on vaccines in general, please listen to The Vaccine Wars, by Richard Holdeman, Ph.D. Here is a short excerpt from this lecture:
"Next to clean water, vaccinations have saved more lives than anything else in history." Dr. Holdeman has a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular biology.
Two thousand years ago our Lord Jesus said: "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" -Matthew 16:26
And about 50 years ago Dr. Martyn Lloyd Jones said, "Stop and ask yourselves, 'What am I doing?' You will be dead long before this world will ever be put right. What, therefore, will happen to you?"
Recommended sermon: Compel Them to Come in, by Pastor Charles Spurgeon (1834-1892)
The following quote is from the sermon, Compel Them to Come in, by Pastor Charles Spurgeon (1834-1892):
"My brother...I entreat you to stop and consider. Do you know what it is you are rejecting this morning? You are rejecting Christ, your only Savior. 'Other foundation can no man lay'; 'there is none other name given among men whereby we must be saved.' My brother, I cannot bear that ye should do this, for I remember what you are forgetting: the day is coming when you will want a Savior. It is not ong ere weary months shall have ended, and your strength begin to decline; your pulse shall fail you, your strength shall depart, and you and the grim monster - death, must face each other. What will you do in the swelling of Jordan without a Savior? Death-beds are stony things without the Lord Jesus Christ. It is an awful thing to die anyhow; he that hath the best hope, and the most triumphant faith, finds that death is not a thing to laugh at. It is a terrible thing to pass from the seen to the unseen, from the mortal to the immortal, from time to eternity, and you will find it hard to go through the iron gates of death without the sweet wings of angels to conduct you to the portals of the skies. It will be a hard thing to die without Christ. I cannot help thinking of you...I picture myself standing at your bedside, and hearing your cries, and knowing that you are dying without hope. I cannot bear that. I think I am standing by your coffin now, and looking into your clay-cold face, and saying, 'This man despised Christ, and neglected the great salvation.' I think what bitter tears I shall weep then, if I think that I have been unfaithful to you, and how those eyes fast closed in death, shall seem to chide me and say, 'Minister, I attended the music hall, but you were not in earnest with me; you amused me, you preached to me, but you did not plead with me. You did not know what Paul meant when he said, 'As though God did beseech you by us, we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.'"

There is much about the nature of "time" that even the most learned scientists still don't understand. But I know 2 things about time: One, it had a beginning. The Bible says, "In the beginning (of time!) God created the heavens and the earth." And time will have an end. The Bible says: "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment..." - Hebrews 9:27:
In this third video, Dr. Mohler gives a wonderful tribute to the late Dr. John McArthur. And he ends by saying that in the last week the church has lost 2 giant warriors - Dr. John MacArthur and Dr. James Dobson. And he prays that God will rise up warriors to take their place. Amen!
Excerpt from this last Briefing: Dr. Mohler is asked why Christian ministers aren't better at doing exorcisms. He says, on the one hand, it is impossible for Christians to be demon possessed. And for the non-Christian, demon possession is the least of their problems!
Amen!
Recommended sermon on the occult and demon possession: Colossians 2:1-15, by Rev. Paul den Butter
'I looked at him in shock. Why the hell does everyone think the problem is drugs? 'David, what I wouldn't give to have a drug problem.' I say. 'What I wouldn't give for it to be that simple. If I could check in somewhere and come out the other end okay. I'd be thrilled.'"
"Even then, I was pretty certain, in my 12 year old mind, that life was one long distraction from the inevitable."
"Everything's plastic, we're all going to die sooner or later, so what does it matter. That was my motto."
"...and then one day you realize that your entire life is just awful, not worth living, a horror and a black blot on the white terrain of human existence. One morning you wake up afraid you're going to live."
"But then I never had to worry about a crash landing because I never even took off."
"Something inside me was not just depressed but dividing, cracking, splintering, pulling me back and forth between my two parents, and occasionally I wished I could walk through a picture window, and have the sharp, broken shards slash me to ribbons so I would finally look like I felt."
"They ask me if I've done any drugs in the last 24 hours, and I say no. Then I say I guess I smoked some pot and snorted some coke also, but that was just to make the Ecstasy last longer. I also admit to them I had some beer, maybe a couple of sea breezes in there too. Then the doctor asks if I have a substance abuse problem, and all I can do is laugh."
"'I won't do that.' he said. 'I already told you it's your mother's responsibility.' 'Oh *** Daddy. I give up. I can't listen to this anymore.' 'What am I supposed to say?' 'Try, Have a good life. Because this is it for me.' Years later, thinking about this conversation, I will remember, as somebody very sagely said during the parricide trials of the Menendez brothers: Anytime your kids kill you, you are at least partly to blame."
"Depression is all about If you loved me you would."
"But instead of going to a mental institution, I decided to go to California."
"...I wish that every psychiatrist I've ever dealt with could know what it's like to be a patient and to feel desperate. I wish they could know what it's like to wake up every morning afraid you're going to live.'
"So the plan was simple: I would earn enough money to pay my mother back, and they I'd kill myself."
"On April 8, 1994, as I was completing this book, Kurt Cobain shot himself in the head...Grunge, the musical style that Nirvana did so much to invent and popularize, was described by Newsweek as 'what happens when children of divorce get their hands on guitars.'...Every person who has experienced a severe depression has his own sad, awful tale to tell, his own mess to live through. Sadly, Kurt Cobain will never get that far. Every day I thank God that I did."
God’s Thoughts of Peace, and Our Expected End, by Pastor Charles Spurgeon (1834-1892) [Text: Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."]
The text for this sermon is Jeremiah 9:9: "Shall I not visit them for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?"
"Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentiles, and millet, and fitches, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof, according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon thy side, three hundred and ninety days shalt thou eat thereof. And thy meat which thou shalt eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day: from time to time shalt thou eat it. Thou shalt drink also water by measure, the sixth part of an hin: from time to time shalt thou drink." - Psalm 119:9-11
Note: This daily sermon for the hearing impaired is dedicated to my good friend, David J. Bishop, who went home to be with his Lord Jesus on July 1, 2021. David was the inspiration for me to begin posting links to sermons for the hearing impaired. David's not deaf anymore. And the first words he heard were from our Lord Jesus, saying to him, "Well done, David, thou good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of thy Lord!" [Matthew 25:21]
Here is one of the last pictures David sent to me before he died. He was a big sports fan and LOVED the Seattle Seahawks! He was also a BIG baseball fan. I'm sure if David had been able to hear he would have loved the song, Take Me Out to the Ball Game! But David loved our Lord Jesus much, much, much more than any sporting event! Oh, here is a video of Take Me Out to the Ball Game in American Sign Language! (ASL)
