Twenty-Five hundred years ago the Bible predicted that 2 signs of the end of the world would be: 1. Men will go to and fro, and 2. Knowledge will increase:
"But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased." - Daniel 12:4
This prophecy has been fulfilled in minute detail today. There may still be many scientific discoveries in the future, but one thing that will never be discovered is how to go back in time. The Bible says: "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment..." - Hebrews 9:27:
