Banker: "I loaned you a million dollars to drill new oil wells, and they all went dry."
Oilman: "That's true. Could have been worse."
Banker: "I loaned you a second million dollars to drill new oil wells, and they all went dry."
Oilman: "Well, that's true, but it could have been worse."
Banker: "I loaned you a third million dollars to buy new well digging equipment, and it all broke down."
Oilman: "That's true. It could have been worse."
Banker: (At this point the banker's upset. He Said, "I loaned you 3 million dollars. My bank lost 3 million dollars. And all you can say is it could have been worse. What do you mean it could have been worse?"
Oilman: The oilman looked him straight in the eye and said, "It could have been my money."
Then Senator Kennedy says: "And that's what Washington D.C. is like. It's your money!"
