A Call for Robust Spiritual Leadership in the Church - Winsome or God Fearing Pastors

A Call for Robust Spiritual Leadership in the Church - Winsome or God Fearing Pastors, by Pastor Kevin Swanson

Daily Quote for Thursday, September 1, 2022

Quotes by Pastor Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834 - 1892):

"But did I hear you whisper that this was not a convenient time? Then what must I say to you? When will that convenient time come? Shall it come when you are in hell? Will that time be convenient? Shall it come when you are on your dying bed, and the death throttle is in your throat—shall it come then? Or when the burning sweat is scalding your brow; and then again, when the cold clammy sweat is there, shall those be convenient times? When pains are racking you, and you are on the borders of the tomb? No, sir, this morning is the convenient time. May God make it so. Remember, I have no authority to ask you to come to Christ to-morrow. The Master has given you no invitation to come to him next Tuesday. The invitation is, 'To-day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts as in the provocation,' for the Spirit saith 'to-day.' 'Come now and let us reason together;' why should you put it off? It may be the last warning you shall ever have. Put it off, and you may never weep again in chapel...".- from Spurgeon' Sermon Compel Them To Come In

Daily sermon for the Hearing Impaired: The Mortification of Sin

The Mortification of Sin, by Joe Allen [Text: Exodus (Audio)]

Note: This daily sermon for the hearing impaired is dedicated to my good friend, David J. Bishop, who went home to be with his Lord Jesus on July 1, 2021. David was the inspiration for me to begin posting links to sermons for the hearing impaired. David's not deaf anymore. And the first words he heard were from our Lord Jesus, saying to him, "Well done, David, thou good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of thy Lord!" [Matthew 25:21 (Audio)]

Here is one of the last pictures David sent to me before he died. He was a big sports fan and LOVED the Seattle Seahawks! But David loved our Lord Jesus much, much more!

"Whosoever calleth upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." - Romans 10:13

"My friend I stand in Judgment now
And feel that you're to blame somehow.
While on this earth I walked with you day by day
And never did you point the way.

"You knew the Lord in truth and glory,
But never did you tell the story.
My knowledge then was very dim,
You could have led me safe to him.

"Though we lived together here on earth
You never told me of the second birth.
And now I stand this day condemned,
Because you failed to mention him.

"You taught me many things, that's true,
I called you friend and trusted you.
But now I learned, now it's too late,
You could have kept me from this fate.

"We walked by day and talked by night,
And yet you showed me not the light.
You let me live, love and die,
And all the while you knew I'd never live on high.

"Yes, I called you friend in life,
And trusted you in joy and strife.
Yet in coming to this end,
I see you really weren't my friend!"
-My Friend, by D.J. Higgins

Omicron Booster Shots to be Approved without Any Trial Safety Data - Safe?

Omicron Booster Shots to be Approved without Any Trial Safety Data - Safe? by Geoffrey Grider of nowtheendbegins.com

Someone has said "It's the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." Geoffrey Grider rants against Calvinism on a regular basis. I think he's wrong on this, and like most people he raises straw men arguments that no Calvinist would agree with. But his news podcasts are spot on. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

Ozzy Ozborne Moving Back to England, Doesn't Want to Die in 'Crazy America' - nypost.com

-----------------------------------

I grew up in the 1970s listening to Black Sabbath's War Pigs & Paranoid. I think the day is coming when Ozzie will hear those songs again - on judgment day! Our Lord Jesus says: "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." - Matthew 12: 35 & 36 (Audio).

Rather than listen to songs that glorify death, like Black Sabbath's Electric Funeral, why don't you listen to the following sermon that could change where you spend the next 100 trillion ages: How to Benefit from a Funeral, by Dr. David P. Murray

The text for this sermon is Revelation 20:11-15: "And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." - Revelation 20:11-15

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discover it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing, always to be followed by a dictatorship and then a monarchy." Talk show host and Constitutional scholar Mark Levin has said:

"You should view these politicians with the deepest contempt you can possibly imagine. What they are doing to this country, what they are doing to our finances - there is not a criminal in any federal prison, state prison, city or county jail with respect to financial crimes of any sort who collectively could have done the kind of damage that Barack Obama and Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi and yes, willing, timid, gutless Republicans have done to this country! To your future, to your children and your grandchildren. What they are doing is with malice and with forethought."  (Source)
